Repentance and Accountability should start young.

Campers came home today and we had report of four of our girls terrorizing the cabin they were in and making the counselor's life miserable.

After arriving at the corps, we had a "come to Jesus" meeting with the girls and the parents . . .it was interesting to say the least . . .the final ruling being that their "reign of terror" had come to an end.

Funny thing is, these are great girls! They both have history that makes them a little insecure and maybe it's a defense mechanism to be mean to others before they can be mean to them.

I explained that The Salvation Army is a safe place to come to and I would absolutely not allow any name calling of any kind, any hate talk, any teasing that could be taken wrong, any disrepect. If anyone called them names, I wanted to know about it - and in turn, they could not call other people names either. Everyone is made to feel welcome here.

I also explained that we were going to be bringing other children into our group who did not KNOW these rules and that it was so important that they, the leaders of the group, know and respect these rules before these new children get here.

The meeting went well, we prayed with each other, and I think we really made some progress. Time will tell.
