I remember when Ben and Marti Nunes were my corps officers. They always had young people at their house and they were the alternative parents for many of them. We watched and . . .
we learned.
Yesterday, five young men descended upon our house . .. when I went to bed, they were all sitting on couches with various wireless technology instruments - phones, ipods, laptops (mine included). when I woke up this morning, bodies were spread throughout the house - thank goodness half our kids aren't here - there were extra beds and couches.
They stayed for our church service, helped with the music (thanks, guys!), and then headed off for parts undetermined - with the midnight destination being our couches and beds again for the camp break.
Late night dicussions ensued about things spiritual and we have just thoroughly enjoyed them. we do need to get a TV hooked up .. .
I hope we are half the people the Nunes are . . .gracious. welcoming, hospitable. We thank you, Ben and Marti and so do the boys sleeping on our couches.
