So, today was our Fall Back to Normal Day - you know, Rally Day, Celebration Sunday, whatever you want to call it. Except our main church family - which has about 10 people in it - had to stay home because some of them were sick . . .and they were preparing for some new house members.
It was very disappointing (although I understand) because the only two kids were my two girls. We decided NOT to do the new programs because they were both sick, too - so they just slept on the pews. We didn't dismiss for junior church which meant that all of us kid leaders got to stay in for the sermon - the teens didn't wander out - and it was a great sermon about holiness!
And yet, we still had 21 people in church! 15 of them were young adults between the ages of 18 and 35! Wendy brought 2 new visitors and Sam was released from jail that morning so he got to come! We had Chinese Chicken Salad and saltine crackers for lunch and some wonderful garden fresh veggies that Laura brought in. Our dear friend, Captain Malone, was present so we had a very nice talk about upcoming events.
Came home to a PILE of dirty dishes but realized that tomorrow was another holiday so it wasn't so bad to do them.
All in all, I'd say it was a good Sunday. Now I have the whole day ahead of me to do whatever I darn well please! (as long as I add stats to the list, I'm good)
